Choose life.
Choose a job.
Choose a career.
Choose to become Copywriter or Art Director.

But why would I want to do a thing like that?

I’m Samuel Skwarski, Father, Partner, Climber, Cyclist, PR Director and Creative (Copywriter) at Volt Stockholm, with a background in PR from agencies Volontaire, JMWGolin and inhouse as PR Manager for Microsoft Sweden. I’m also:

  • 2x Cannes Young Lions National Winner (Cyber, Digital), 1x Eurobest Contender

  • 1x Oatly Sponsored Creative at Cannes Lions 2019

  • Many-x shortlisted and awarded in different advertising and PR award shows, for example: Eurobest, Sabre Awards, The Webby Awards, 100W, Guldägget, and looking forward to many more.

In my career I’m on an ongoing journey – moving from a traditional PR consultant working with media relations inhouse – to a Creative role focused on ideas, writing and earned creative strategy. I try to develop my skills without losing what I’ve learned in the world of PR. My journey is reflected in my career moves from PR agency JMWGolin to Cannes Grand Prix-winning hybrid agency Volontaire, to my current position at advertising agency Volt Stockholm. Most of my work ends up in the Earned Creative bracket, with Outdoor and Film added for spice and reach. Personally, I’d like to explore more of the absurdity and bizarre ideas living in my head – I think the truly human creativity and associative leaps of thought are the future – now that the world has AI.

Previous to my career in Advertising and PR, I worked as a cashier at grocery stores, packed DVD cases and rolled movie posters at a warehouse, did construction work, and assisted artists such as HuskMitNavn, Horfe, CAP - Crew Against People at Gallery Steinsland Berliner.

Recommendations.

Rikard Linder, former Art Director colleague at Volontaire:

“Samuel is one of the most ambitious, strategic and creative people I have ever met. He combines some of the best qualities in traditional PR with classical advertising methods and blends it together perfectly with innovative communication ideas. And always with a smile. Highly recommend working with Samuel.”

Johanna Snickars, Head of Communications at Microsoft:

“Samuel was in my Communications team at Microsoft for a little less than a year, but during this time he managed to impress me greatly. With a creative and analytical mind, he's quick to take action and can foresee both opportunity and crisis. Samuel is extremely driven, fast paced and it was fascinating to see him grow with every challenge given to him. He never gives up and always strives to not only deliver according to expectations, but exceeding them. Apart from being a pr star, he's also charmingly witty and made his colleagues laugh every day.”

Karin Zingmark, CMO at Microsoft:

“Samuel was a part of the Comms Team at Microsoft during december 2014 until may 2016. He initially reported directly to me, as I was acting Comms Lead, and from july 2015 he reported to our Comms Lead as a part of the CMO team. Samuel is amazing to work with in many ways. He is target oriented, creative and innovative yet on the same time very thorough and never leaves lose ends in projects. He has an outstanding capacity and sets very high targets for himself. Samuel also has the ability to quickly grasp complex matters and to prioritize in order to drive projects forward. To top this off, he is great fun to work with. I highly recommend Samuel and congratulate those that get the chance to work with him in the future.”
